Amanda + Bradyn: Middle Beach Lodge Magic
Quite often when I have shot full day weddings the group tends to be on the larger side and smaller weddings tend to gravitate towards smaller packages. Amanda and Bradyn had just 12 guests and hired me to spend pretty much the whole day with them, when you spend 7 hours with such a small group you really get to know everybody. Lucky for me this small but mighty group of Manatobians were possibly the nicest, down to earth crew around. The families both come from small town Manitoba, specifically an area referred to as "the pierogie belt" The Ukrainian pride and heritage in this area is strong and no exception with these families. As the guys were getting ready polka music blasted from the rooms and a times a few Ukrainian dance moves were busted out. These guys were so great, made me feel so welcome and I felt so to lucky to have been included in such an intimate affair.
Amanda and Bradyn travelled to Tofino, BC from Winnipeg on their bad ass Harley and met the rest of their family at the Middle Beach Lodge where the wedding was to take place. As many of you know the landscape of Tofino is much different then that of Manitoba, and most of Amanda and Bradyn's guests had never been to the west coast so it was amazing to see them marvel at it's beauty. The wedding day was a very typical drizzly, socked in Tofino day but as it went on the air warmed up, the sun poked out and by evening it was beautiful. They had their ceremony in the rainforest amongst the giant cedars that so kindly gave us protection and kept everyone pretty dry. We got so lucky with the weather, yes, there was a bit of rain but it didn't stick around long and in the time between the showers and sun we got this amazing low-laying mist and some really beautiful evening light.
